Panel Surface Treatments Technician
Carbon60 are currently looking for a Panels Surface Treatment Technician (Mechanical/Electrical Assembler) to join a clients of ours based in Stevenage on a 12 month contract (with possibility of extension). Our client is on of the UK's largest aircraft manufacturing companies who also build space satellites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce items that conform to all quality standards in accordance with the production plan
- Work in compliance with the company's local document system, standard processes, and health and safety requirements
- Promote and maintain clean room regulations, area-specific health and safety, and 5S policies
- Provide support and training to junior team members as needed
- Demonstrate flexibility and mobility to support various operational teams as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to work from detailed drawings and electronic work instructions
- Experience working to procedures with checkpoints and quality gates
- Proficiency in industries such as Space, Aerospace, Automotive, or Motorsport
- Ability to work at height and mix paint compounds to manufacturer's criteria
- Desirable: Over 3 years' experience in a technician role in general manufacturing
- Desirable: Experience in a clean room environment and leading team activities
You must be willing to attend and complete the following training:
- Component masking
- Spray painting
- Grit blasting
- Crane operation
- Acid etching
- Surface treatments
- Adhesive mixing and measuring
- Industrial oven usage
This company offers a competitive pay rate of £18 per hour (PAYE) or £23.82 per hour (Umbrella), with a 20% shift uplift. The role follows a fortnightly rotation of 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 shifts, Monday to Friday, with the potential for additional midweek and weekend hours.
