<p>Working in partnership with Carbon60, ERIKS &ndash; a Specialised Industrial Service Provider &ndash; has launched an exciting apprenticeship programme, designed to discover and develop the next generation of engineering talent, help them build a career, and bridge the skills gap in STEM industries.</p>
<p>Whether you&rsquo;ve recently left school or college or are looking for a new direction in your career journey, an apprenticeship could be a fantastic opportunity for you to gain vital experience in engineering, and learn new practical skills and theoretical knowledge, whilst becoming an important part of leading a leading provider of a wide range of engineering components, technical services, and customisation solutions.</p>
<p><strong>Applications for the 2024 programme are now closed and available apprenticeship placements have been filled. We are looking forward to helping ERIKS find their next generation of talent in 2025 - so, if you're interested in applying in the future, be sure to watch this space!</strong></p>

<h2>The entry requirements, duration, and benefits</h2>
<p>These apprenticeships are open to anyone who wishes to apply, though there is a requirement for applicants to have 3 GCSE&rsquo;s (Grades 9-4 or A-C) or equivalent for the Engineering programme; or 5 GCSE&rsquo;s, including for Maths and English (Grades 9-4 or A-C), or equivalent for the Sales &amp; Service programme. ERIKS are not expecting their apprentices to have prior knowledge or experience, just a willingness to work, learn and grow.</p>
<p>The Engineering course runs for 48 months, while the duration for the Sales &amp; Service course is 36 months. During these periods &ndash; and during any future employment with ERIKS of course &ndash; all successful applicants will benefit from the following:</p>

ERIKS Apprenticeship Programme 2024

<h2>Helping Ex-Military Talent Take the Next Step&nbsp;</h2>
<p>As Forces Covenant civilian employment support providers for Service leavers and Veterans, Carbon60 &ndash; one of the UK&rsquo;s Top 25 Veteran Employers &ndash; are proud to work in partnership with STS Aviation Services on an exciting new programme designed to create exciting post-service careers for ex-forces talent.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Utilising the recruitment expertise and experience of Carbon60, STS &ndash; specialists in comprehensive aircraft maintenance, engineering, and modification solutions &ndash; are searching for ex-military personnel to join their Forces to Civilian Transition Programme 2024. This programme provides fantastic opportunities to kickstart a career at one of the leading engineering companies in the global aviation industry, gain vital experience and, most importantly, transition into civilian life with the security and support employment provides.</p>
<p>There are many places in the programme available, and Carbon60 are recruiting on behalf of STS Aviation Services now ahead of a programme start date in the 2nd half of 2024 and a second course starting in the 1st half of 2025. <h2>The Role and Entry Requirements : Military Pathway to B1 Mechanical or B2 Avionics Licence</h2>
<p>The Forces to Civilian Transition Programme 2024 is only available to individuals with existing mechanical or avionics experience. However, these individuals don&rsquo;t have to be in the Armed Forces currently and can apply even if they are already in post-military employment elsewhere.&nbsp;</p>
<p>For the many spaces available, STS are searching for some people currently without a UK CAA B1 Mechanical Licence or B2 Avionics Licence, who will join at step one of the programme and be trained to by Carbon60 ahead of deployment at STS; and some who already have a UK CAA B1 or B2 Licence who will join STS directly as part of their existing workforce.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Regardless of their role, every individual will be provided with all the support, guidance and advice needed to ensure an effective, enjoyable and successful transition of military personnel to civilian employment.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Training and Qualifications</h2>
<p>For those currently without a UK CAA B1 or B2 Licence, Carbon60 will provide all the training required to complete your CAA Part-66 Category B licence modules whilst performing OJT in a live hanger environment. This will include a 22-week classroom-based course for obtaining the B license, followed by a type rating course on a wide body aircraft.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Additionally, you&rsquo;ll benefit from a tailored ILM-accredited leadership program at the foundation degree level, which is designed to take and grow your existing military leadership prowess and help you develop leadership skills for transition into a civilian environment.</p>
<p>Training will be held in Manchester initially, with OJT opportunities being offered in Manchester or Birmingham. What&rsquo;s more, shift patterns in each location are diverse to suit your lifestyle and promote work-life harmony.&nbsp;</p>
<p><em>Please note: A minimum of 5 years of mechanical or avionics experience is required to join the programme.</em></p>

<h2>Salary and Progression</h2>
<p>Upon joining the programme, you&rsquo;ll receive a competitive starting salary of &pound;26,000 during training, which increases to &pound;42,740 during the OJT phase. When the training is completed and your licence gained, you&rsquo;ll be rewarded with an impressive salary of &pound;64,785.</p>
