- Assist in overseeing minor refurbishment works including bathrooms, electrical upgrades, and general building works (typically up to £70k).
- Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and help maintain site H&S documentation in line with company and council requirements.
- Monitor site progress and report updates to senior site or project management staff.
- Ensure works comply with client specifications, council standards, and industry regulations.
- Liaise with building users, clients, and internal teams to help minimise disruption within operational buildings.
- Assist with site logistics, basic materials coordination, and general site organisation.
- Build positive working relationships with subcontractors, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- CSCS Card (any level considered).
- SMSTS
- 3‑day First Aid at Work (or willingness to complete).
- Some site-based experience within construction, refurbishment, maintenance, or FM environments.
- Background in a trade (or understanding of trade-based works such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or building maintenance).
- Good awareness of health & safety requirements on construction sites.
- Basic IT skills for reporting, emails, and job tracking systems.
- Full UK driving licence and confidence travelling between multiple sites.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Studying or keen to study an NVQ Level 5 or above in Construction/Site or Project Management.
- Previous experience working on council or public-sector buildings.
- Experience within an FM or maintenance-led environment.
- Organised and proactive approach with the ability to manage several small works packages simultaneously.
- Willingness to learn and grow into increased responsibility over time.
