Building & Construction Project Manager

Location: Broughton, Flintshire (Full time - Onsite)
Contract Duration: Until January 2027 (with strong likelihood of extension)
Pay Rate:

  • Up to £42.00 per hour (Umbrella)
  • Up to £31.40 per hour (PAYE)
    Hours: 35 per week (overtime paid at standard rate)

About the Role

Our aerospace client is seeking an experienced Building & Construction Project Manager to oversee and deliver a portfolio of CAPEX projects from inception through to handover. This position is ideal for a highly capable project professional with strong experience working client‑side within building services, sustainability, refurbishment, and engineering‑focused construction environments.

You will lead multi‑functional project teams, manage project documentation, oversee technical compliance, and ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of sustainability works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Multi‑Functional Project Teams (MFTs) to meet internal standards and project governance.
  • Deliver full project lifecycle management - feasibility, design, specification, delivery, and handover.
  • Oversee building services design for small to medium‑sized refurbishment and plant replacement projects.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, drawings, costings, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct site monitoring, audits, and ensure Health & Safety compliance.
  • Manage CAPEX business cases through preparation, approval, and close out.
  • Develop and maintain strong client and partner relationships.
  • Assure adherence to safety, security, and ethical requirements.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in Capital Investment Project Management and delivering construction or building‑services projects.
  • Strong background in building engineering services refurbishment within operational buildings.
  • Ability to lead and motivate multi‑disciplinary teams, including external professional staff.
  • ONC/HNC or equivalent in a Building Engineering Services or similar technical discipline (experience considered over qualifications).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, maintenance principles, and building operations.
  • Proficiency in industry‑standard design and calculation software.
  • Skilled in producing high‑quality reports, documents, and cost analysis (MS Project, SharePoint, G‑Suite desirable).
  • Sustainability Project Delivery Experience essential.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional memberships (CIBSE, IMechE, IET) advantageous.
